Online registration is preferred.
Piano Repertoire: Any single sonata or sonatina movement under 4:30 minutes. Longer works will be stopped at the 4:30 mark during performance. Two short movements are acceptable if total time is under 4:30 minutes. Published excerpts and arrangements can be accepted. All selections must be memorized. Original scores must be provided on the evaluation day.
Repertoire for Strings: Any character piece under 4:30 minutes; longer works will be stopped at the 4:30 mark during performance. Memorization and original score required.
Location: Community Music School (CMS) of Webster University; for GPS enter the address: 8282 Big Bend Boulevard. (CMS is located directly behind Webtser University's Thompson House, at the south end of Parking Lot K).
Parking: You may park in Parking Lot K on Webster University on Sunday morning up to 1:00 pm. The CMS building is located on the south end of Parking Lot K. After 1:00 pm, please park in the upper levels of the parking garage on Garden Street, located on the other side of the street from the CMS building.

Church commitment that cannot be rearranged
Required school or sporting event (not regular practice)
Serious at risk health situation, such as autoimmune disease
Otherwise, we assume festival participants are available all day, Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. String entries will be scheduled after lunch on Sunday only. Every effort will be made to schedule siblings within 30 minutes of one another.

To encourage low building traffic and Covid safety we request that 1 parent only bring the child to the contest venue. Teachers will not come to the building other than for their assigned monitoring time. Parent or colleague may substitute for a teacher as monitor; but please notify the Festival Chair if a switch is made.

REGISTRATION
Registration fees: The registration fee remains $20 per student for 2025.
Online registration (preferred): Each teacher is to submit one Teacher Registration Form and one Student Registration Form for each of their students. Teachers are to pay their registration fees at the time they register online on PayPal.
Mailing registration: Online registration is preferred, but if you have to mail paper forms, please (1) print out and fill out one USPS Teacher Registration Form and (2) print and fill out a Student Registration (Judge) Form for each of your students, and then mail them to Vera Parkin at the address listed below postmarked by January 30, 2025. Registration fees are still to be paid online via PayPal.

This is a live event; we are not accepting video submissions.
Following the festival, packets with Judges' sheets and medals/ribbons will be available at Steinway Piano Gallery during business hours as of Monday, February 24, 2025.
The Sonatina Festival is not a competition, and focuses on students below the advanced level. We wish to keep that as part of the Festival mission.
